Put Your Bay Window Treatment Anxiety At Bay

It can be challenging to dress bay windows, and our in-store consultants are here to help! With bay window treatments, it’s important to choose the right type of hardware that is custom curved to fit the space, such as adjustable elbows that allow the rods to extend around the frame.

Alternatively, three or more individual hardware rods, depending on the number of windows, may be used to mimic the idea of one continuous rod. Not all windows need curved rods. Another trick to bay windows is determining whether the curtains are to function or not and where to hang the curtains. For instance, if the curtains are to frame the windows just on the outside or whether the home owner desires privacy and wants curtains at all sides of each window in the bay. Our design consultants can assist customers through this decision making process!

Using silk drapery and braiding each panel can also help frame the bay windows for a clean, contemporary look. Valances at the top of the bay will accentuate the curvature of the windows to open up the room. Roman shades drawn halfway on bay windows are an excellent source of texture and sophistication for the ambiance of a space.
